Volunteers of Lake Country Garden for Good is community garden cared for by volunteers. All the produce is donated to area food pantries and free meal sites. GFG is also a demonstration garden for organic gardening and the "double digging" method for increasing the amount of plantings and food production per square foot.
Though fall is not typically thought of as the season of tomatoes, with our cold summer and warm fall that is just what we got this year. The garden produced bushels of tomatoes that had to be harvested three times a week. A big thanks to the Turners who adopted the tomato patch.
